The application we chosen is Survey Monkey. This is a web tool for designing surveys, collecting responses and analysing results of the survey. We decide to repurpose it as an activity to let student learn how to design a suitable questionnaire, e.g. how to design a survey using good wordings, appropriate question type and likert scale.
The affordances of this tool are that, first of all, this can automate the processing of data obtained from surveying; second, the survey can be accessed by more people in a very short time through e-mail or other learning platforms; third, this tools the designing process of survey you can see the results graphically in a real-time manner.
It would be useful as students can actually try to design and conduct the survey by using their own questionaire, and the real-time feedback provides opportunities for students to reflect whether their questionnaires are biased. Also, designing survey can let students learn how to ask questions properly.
